Mexican restaurant inside of a Mexican market. It might not be the cleanest place, but the food is amazing. Unless you speak Spanish there may be a language barrier between you and the waitress, but that's how you know it's going to be good.

We think this is the best restaurant in Knoxville. There is really something special going on here. This place is sort of Asian fusion but it really reminds us of the flavors we miss from Japan. Please note this restaurant has moved to Old City, AirBnB may be showing the old location.

Park really close to the house with a few miles of hiking trails and swimming in the old quarry. Picnic tables on the peak with decent views in the winter when the foliage is less dense. If you're a runner this is a great trail run from the house, about a 5 mile loop from the house and around the quarry and back.

The Knoxville Zoo has recently been renovated and is a really great place for kids and families. You can bring your own food inside the park so it's a great place to bring a picnic lunch and spend the whole day. There's also a giant splash pad for the kids (and adults I guess) to play. Parking is $5 dollars, and adult admission is about $20.
