Hiking in the Columbia River Gorge is absolutely stunning. There are many awesome hikes and trails, but one of my favorites that offers spectacular views and a good hike but not super difficult is Angels Rest. It is not an easy hike either, but the reward is at the very top.

Hiking in the Columbia River Gorge is absolutely stunning. There are many awesome hikes and trails, but one of my favorites that offers spectacular views and a good hike but not super difficult is Angels Rest. It is not an easy hike either, but the reward is at the very top.
The Pittock Mansion is a French Renaissance-style château. But if you are in the mood for a beautiful view of Portland with Mt. Hood in the backdrop, on a non cloudy day :), then this is a must. There are two way to get there. First is by car which will take you to the parking lot of the Mansion. After you are done sightseeing, can you quickly drive to the Washington Park International Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden. The other way to get to Pittock Mansion is by hiking through Forest Park. To do this, you will have to drive to Lower Macleay Park. Take the hike until you reach the abandoned Stone House. You will continue hiking past and the trail will bring you to the Pittock Mansion. The hike is about 40 min, depending on your pace. It is worth it!
