My go-to for a good cup of coffee in the morning. They have a brunch menu and can do lunch as well. If you sign up for the "Too Good to Go" app, they sometimes have deals towards the end of the day for discounted pastries/food.

Built in the 1790s and witness to the key moments of Irish history, I find this eerie and haunting. The leaders of the 1916 revolution were jailed and executed here, turning the tide against the British and sparking a wider revolution.

An old book heaven. This library's existed for three hundred years. It first opened in 1707. It's just next door to St. Patrick's Cathedral and flies under the radar. Tickets are €7 (€4 for students).

World class library tucked behind the Dublin Castle. It features illuminated manuscripts as impressive as the Book of Kells at Trinity, minature paintings, and sacred texts. I like their small rooftop garden and cafe.

If You're Feeling Ambitious
About a three hour round-trip walk from the house. You'll go past the Grand Canal, The River Dodder, the lovely Sean Moore park, and take a scenic seaside walk to the lighthouse. Ferries and cargo ships often pass the Great South Wall that leads to the lighthouse. The wall is a massive sea wall and breakwater to protect ships coming in to the harbour. The lighthouse dates back to 1768, although the current lighthouse was built in 1820. Don't go out in bad weather as the water will rip across the wall and it can get a little TOO exciting.
