It’s a must visit, not only because they are environmentally superior in every way, but the bakery is a joint venture with The Bread Social and the Jam donuts and custard tarts are fuck off amazing. The restaurant are the lads from Three Blue Ducks and the food never disappoints. Expect queues and crowds here but worth checking out true sustainability in action. Pigs are the best 🐖

I love this place first up Sunday morning for a coffee and chocolate croissant baked in the 200 year old historic oven. Another restaurant pushing sustainability and done bloody well. See a real beehive in action or just sit in the garden watching the produce that goes to restaurant grow. The restaurant is up market for Byron and bookings are essential. Definitely worth the 15 min drive

Doma is a destination cafe serving Japanese in the middle of no where. Federal is a country road with 5 other shops. This place is always busy and you always wait for your food here but it is worth it. Unless you get the takeaway Sushi that is pre made on the counter. It is a must visit when doing Byron.

Places to go

General things to do in Byron Bay
Peace and tranquility, get back to nature. The 4.2km walk down to the bottom of the waterfall is definitely worth the effort, make sure you have proper walking or hiking shoes especially if there has been wet weather. The last 1km of the walk is for over medium agility walkers as it consists of boulder climbing.

Byron Farmers Market is supporting locally grown and sourced produce, most of it is organic or bio dynamically grown. Currently the market is located at the Cavenbah Centre on Ewingsdale Rd, every Thursday and is a lazy morning to browse produce, listen to chilled music, and scoff on a wide variety of amazing and healthy food. Who doesn't love a breakfast Taco?

Sightseeing

Protected beach that has great swimming, amenities, frequented by a local pod of dolphins on any given day. This is a place for the rich and famous, a great spot to start the famous lighthouse walk to the most Easterly point in Australia, 100's of people walk this track daily, not for the faint of heart, lots of stairs. Saturday Mornings from 6am the 440 running club do laps of the Wategos hill if you are a fitness freak. Great accommodation and the renowned award winning Rae's on Wategos Restaurant for a posh lunch, or the outside downstairs now has cocktails and light snacks.

Conseils sur la ville

Déplacements

Hire a Bicycle as traffic especially on weekends, public holidays and school holidays is jammed

Ride out of town, great things to see within 5km's
Manières de faire des économises

Look out for nightly food specials

If you are travelling on a budget, definitely hit up Woolworths for pre made hot food, alot of the food outlets, do nightly food specials or happy hours for $10 meals including a beer
Ne manquez pas

Main Beach Live Music

Usually from Thursdays there is always a busker playing music on the grassy knoll in front of the Top Pub ( Beach Hotel), take a towel or blanket and chill out under the Pine trees listening to the finest of Byrons up and coming musicians. Weekends strolling around is also amazing for buskers and live music PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO DROP SOME CASH IN THE GUITAR CASE!
Que faut-il apporter?

What to pack

Everything ha ha, clothing should include - stuff for the beach, exercise clothing and runners, casual clothing for heading out, make sure to pack something warm, as the coastal weather can bring in a change. Always wear sunscreen, the sun hear is brutal.
