Next to the beautiful Yampa River and Walking/Bike Path that starts off Walton Creek/Hwy 40 and goes past downtown Steamboat.....about 4 miles. The Park is a nice stopping off place, lovely gardens with benches that showcases all that grows in our climate

Walk or take the Gondola up to the top of the mountain for spectaular views. Thunderhead Lodge offers a lovely resturant for lunch or dinner. If you opt to do this by bicycle, be sure you have proper equipment for safety, and mountain bike with springs, tires and good brakes. Its a fabulous hike and you can ride the Gondola back down if walking or riding back down isn't for you.
