The best cocktails in town are located a quick walk away from the Shredhouse in Mammoth Village. Shelter's craft cocktails are unique, feature liquor and beer made on-premise, and rival what you can find in Los Angeles or San Francisco. The bar's open floor plan is great for après or a drink before dinner.

The Lakefront Restaraunt at Tamarak Lodge is the best date spot on the mountain. It's a small dining room with only ten tables set in the historic Lodge with a stunning view of Twin Lakes. You must order the soup of the day, and reservations are recommended. Plan on going 45-minutes early for a cocktail and to listen to the pianist who plays on Friday and Saturdays.

My favorite place to eat after riding in the spring. Sit out on their porch on a bluebird spring day and play some cornhole as you overlook the Sherwins.

Leave your skis at Canyon Lodge after a day on the mountain

It's only $12 to drop your skis or snowboard off to get waxed at Canyon Lodge overnight. Just leave them at the shop before you jump on the Village Gondola return to the Shredhouse. The wax will increase your cruising speed whether your slaying through fields of pow or on a long flat traverse. The best part? You can simply pick up your skis or snowboard when you're ready to ride the next morning, and you don't even have to carry your gear. The shop is on the 2nd floor near the premium rentals locker room.
Déplacements

Uber and Lyft are difficult

There is limited Uber and Lyft service in Mammoth. Uber has availability less than 20% of the time I request, even after keeping an eye on the app for 30+ minutes. You're better off using a taxi service named Mammoth Shuttle (760) 709-6459 or use the adjacent bus stop. The best part about the Shredhouse is that you're walking distance to the village. So you don't really need public transportation unless you want to go to Vons, Twin Lakes, or the Bowling Alley.

Use a Humidifier

Humidity at home should be between 30% and 50% and anything too low will give you issues like sore throats, dry skin, and allergy symptoms. We keep a humidifier in the Shredhouse’s bedroom so that everyone is comfortable. It really makes you feel so much better in the morning.
