This is where Agatha Christie wrote some of her novels. It's an enchanting place with a 1920's hotel and the pilchard Inn. It has a sea tractor for you to travel on when the tide is in. It is a beautiful beach and lovely to swim there

Hope cove is the reason we brought our bungalow. It is a beautiful place with good restaurants and has 2 lovely beaches. There is a hotel there called The Cottage Hotel and it is brilliant. It is like something from the 1920's, the restaurant serves wonderful food served in the old fashioned way. It still has a desert trolley. Wonderful. You must go there even if it's to sit on the terrace looking out at the amazing views over the sea, eating one of the best cream teas you will ever have.

Salcombe is a typical little seaside town but not commercialised at all. It has wonderful restaurants and coffee shops. A ferry takes you across the estuary to more amazing beaches. It is a place to go if you love yachting. It is very exclusive and is said to be the most expensive place to live in the uk.

Overbecks is a national trust property and has the most stunning views you will find in the South hams. Amazing place to enjoy a pot of tea on the terrace

my favourite place to eat

If you love fish and chips and amazing seafood this is the place to go. It is right on the beach and serves the freshest fish you can get anywhere. it is very reasonably priced and the banoffee pie is to die for. You could do as we do and get a Devon ice-cream from their take away window and eat it as you take a stroll along the beach. There is also an American tank there which a local from the area recovered from the sea and is placed by close to the beach as a memorial to all of the American soldiers that lost their lives there during the second world war. We were lucky enough to be there when they had a commemoration service on the anniversary of this event and it was extremely touching and emotional. Another must see
