Neighbourhoods

Clapham and Balham are the two local neighbourhoods
There is a buzzing High St, full of bars, restaurants and cafes. Also check out The Pavement area. Check out Abbeville Road and while you are there don't miss Gails bakery. Clapham Common is beautiful to walk in in all seasons

From Waterloo station head to the Thames river. You'll see the London Eye, Parliament House and Big Ben to your left. Head right and walk along the waterfront - it's a hive of activity and people. There is the Royal Festival Hall, The Hayward Art Gallery, the National Theatre, and further down the Globe Theatre (which Shakespeare used to perform in) and the awesome Tate Modern art gallery (many exhibitions are free - definitely worth head to the viewing platform on top, where you can see many London landmarks)
