This café is where I go for breakfast at the weekends. It’s a 10 to 15 minute walk from the flat going towards the Marina (the opposite way from town). It is busy and you may have to wait for a table, but the cooked breakfast options are worth the wait including soft boiled eggs and soldiers, full cooked breakfast with sourdough bread, or porridge with berry compote. If you are later in the day, they have a great selection of Ottolenghi inspired salads. The staff are very friendly and efficient and it’s a great spot to catch up with the

Parks & Nature

There is a café (50 minutes walk from the flat) that is set into the Cliff at Ovingdean Gap (Undercliff Walk, Brighton BN2 7AF). They provide tea in china mugs that you are welcome to take down onto the beach. Their bacon sandwiches are noteworthy as is the homemade Rockey Road tiffin. Rottingdean (1 hour 20 minutes walk from the flat) is a traditional Sussex village and was home to Rudyard Kipling. It is awash with coffee shops and fish and chips. The Seaspray (https://www.facebook.com/Seasprayrottingdean/) is my personal favourite for home cooked food and friendly staff. You can get a large number of buses back to Kemp Town if you don’t fancy the walk back.
