Take a ride up the Whiteface Memorial Highway. It is a toll road bringing you to the top of Whiteface Mountain where you will park and either take an elevator or walk a short ways up to the peak where you will get a 360 degree view of Lake Placid, the green mountain and even New Hampshire on very clear days.
