Nashville is now as famous for it's hot chicken as for it's country stars. This chicken put Nashville on the gastronomy map. West Nashville's location is just 10 miles from the house - and the lines don't tend to be as long as Midtown.

This is our family's personal favorite hang-out. It's our "Cheers Bar" where everyone knows our name. 12 miles from the house with a great selection of beef, fish, and chicken dishes along with hearty salads or a wood oven artisan pizza - all in a quiet atmosphere.
In case you're wondering - they hand-stuff their olives with blue cheese for a best-in-show martini with a side-car.

There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area - but this is highly recommended as a local favorite. Try the Enchilada Suizas with a Don Pancho "Extra Special" Margarita. Just 5 miles from the house.

Nashville's awfully proud of our Bar-b-que. If you want to try the best - head to Martin’s. They have several locations, but we like the one on 4th. Fun atmosphere.

Hiking
If you love the outdoors - you've come to the right spot. Our home is on the edge of 110 acres of woods on a bluff overlooking the Cumberland River. Feel free to hike our land and you'll find an accessible trailhead directly behind our home. However - it's not well maintained with many downed trees. You may also like to hike the railroad tracks that wind along the river. The train only comes by once a day on weekdays and not on weekends. In case you would like some better maintained hikes, here's some other options in order of our favorites:

Drive through the historic neighborhood of Belle Meade - home to the Belle Meade Mansion and some of the finer southern mansions in the country. At the end you'll find a park with great trails and vistas. Just 17 miles from the house.

Also just 7 miles from the house is an old farm and the trails run along the river's bend. It mostly flat hiking but still beautiful with lots of chances to see the wildlife.

Sightseeing
Dan's been in town since 1988 and Bethany was born and raised here. We've been here so long we've forgotten all the things you might want to see on your first time to Nashville... Here's some of what we think you'd like to see - but offer us suggestions and we'll come up with something!
