My favourite beach
This is the closest beach to our Toucan House. It is a 12 minute walk or 5 minute drive through the town of Potrero. If you walk down the beach towards the end there is a Ranch for the Villaggio guests that serves fresh fruit smoothies, sandwiches, cocktails.

Playa Penca

A 30 minute drive from the house, this is a great authentic Costa Rica beach. We recommend going to “Lola’s” that serves fantastic lunch and drinks, and has hammocks for guests to chill in on the beach.

One of the most famous surf beaches in the area. It is a 20 minute drive from the house. Head to Las Tortugas hotel right on the beachfront for the best “Arroz con pollo” a typical rice dish. A huge, golden sand beach you won’t want to miss !

It’s a 45 minute drive from the house. A very famous surf beach, with miles of white sand and trees for shade. It is a bumpy road to get there but totally worth it. Stop by at “Hotel Playa Negra” for a great lunch with views stretching over the beach and ocean.

Great local restaurant right on the beach. Their cocktails are amazing - especially the “Coco Loco” and the food is worth stopping for. Great sunset views right on Playa Flamingo. It’s a 12 minute drive from the house.
