Food Scene

Pizarras Bistro is a lively little place with original menu items and a decent wine list. The five star rating is based on they excel on what they do, for a bistro, they are truly wonderful. The food is delicious, I had some very tender lamb. And the service is correct, the whole "house" seems to be enjoying what they are doing and take pride in it, A must vist Restaurant ,if you stay at Palermo UNO

Praise the meat lords! After what seems like centuries of the same traditional Argentine fare, one special restaurant has crossed over to the dark side to revamp the holy parrilla. La Carnicería, which means butcher shop in Spanish, stays true to its meat roots modernizing the steakhouse classics with a contemporary spin and exciting flavor twists. Smoked chorizo, caramelized sweetbreads, blood sausage with apples, fried cheese provoleta with pears. It’s a new generation of steakhouse that ain’t your grandfather’s barrio parrilla, but he’d probably still go loco for the food.

A Ceviche Party at La Mar was probably one of the most anticipated restaurant openings in 2015, and a year later, this Peruvian cebichería is still a hit. Many were skeptical that the seafood-centric spot wouldn’t be so hot in Argentina’s not-so-seafood friendly capital city, but Gastón Acurio and his crew have yet again managed to win over our hearts and stomachs with their wondrous fruits of the sea. Direct from Peru, Chef Anthony Vasquez and his team of young cooks and ceviche specialists transformed porteño steak cravings for raw fish, staying true to Peruvian flavors, techniques and ingredients.

This great Indian restaurant that has an exquisite offer of Indian flavour . Not too spicy but yet very tasteful, the menu is very well combined between great salads, meats, sauces and cheese. The service was really good as well. This place is for eating good quality food. It's as simple as that. I really recommend it.

All about the pizza: Super light fluffy dough, cooked for less than two minutes in the XXXhotXXX oven, and topped with fresh ingredients and great tomato sauce. I always order the Margherita – it’s a joy to eat and really never fails me. Ask for the spicy chili oil, and order with beer or wine depending what strikes your boozy liver.

Argentine food overall is fairly simple, the meat speaks for itself so there isn't a lot of spice. That's why Sudestada was a great break from all the meat! Lovely Vietnamese food, small cozy restaurant and always exemplary service!

If you are a coffee lover, you must visit Lattente, it's a small Coffee at Palermo Soho. Their coffee are colombian. I've been there twice. First time I tried double expresso and brownie, and second time cappuccino. Both were excellent. The expresso was as strong as it must be, and cappuccino was lovely prepared.

This graffiti-splattered spot serves up what may be the best burgers this side of the hemisphere. The menu is simple – just fries, craft beer and a small selection of gourmet burgers topped with the likes of goat’s cheese, arugula and bacon.

Chef Tomás Kalika of Mishiguene, BA’s premier upscale Jewish restaurant, debuted his second spot, Fayer, which means fire in Yiddish, and melds Jewish and Middle-Eastern flavors with Argentina’s obsession for open-flame cooking. The dishes center around the five pillars of fire technique: parrilla, smoker, spit roaster, mangal, and tannur. Try hits like khachapuri shakshuka, smoked pastrami, and arguably the best (and only) beet hummus in South America. (Ph: Fayer) $$$$

Parks & Nature

Jogging Route Stretching across the city from Recoleta to Palermo, Av. del Libertador offers some of the best options for running in Buenos Aires. You can choose to run straight along the road or break off at any or all of the plazas scattered along the way to run laps, do some stretching, or take a break on an oversized park bench. A steady stream of joggers and cyclists usually means the female runner can gain some light relief from the catcalls and leering of over friendly locals and the grassy areas on the northern side of the avenue are popular, workout-friendly spots.

Don't miss this place! Free entrance, beautiful sculpture and it is so peaceful in here. There is a little butterfly garden so butterflies are flying around everywhere. You can take beautiful photos there. It is very relaxing even though it is directly located at plaza Italia.

I enjoyed several hours wandering around the various animal enclosures, and thought it was a nice added touch that some of the smaller animals were free to roam around the pathways amongst visitors. You can get quite close to some of the animals with no huge fences obscuring your view (although obviously not with the lions etc!) Definitely add this...

Shopping

Great place to enjoy looking at outlet stores. As usual a bit expensive but you can find some buys if you look. Urban Taco and Urban Crepes have delicious food. Fun to walk around and take a cafe .. The Shopping Plaza was a former train station so it has history to it and looks from the past..
