Food and Drinks - within two blocks

Seafood staples like chowder and lobster rolls are served with local brews at this easygoing spot. The seafoam cocktail or a Navy strength cosmo is a solid choice. The Clam linguine is my value pick. On Sundays, they have brunch and half off oysters.

Eastern European small plates. The menu is small, but what they do - they do very well. Would highly recommend for a smaller group. Reservations strongly recommended.

Tacos and BBQ, with great cocktails. I recommend “The big Fizz” cocktail if you like grapefruit. This place prefers cash, as they charge a 3.5% fee on card transactions. The nachos are also pretty great.

Build-your-own tacos/nachos with a range of options and cocktails are the draw at this upbeat, Funky spot. Pro-tip: The kitchen is open late night. Get the Nachos for the best value.

If it’s a nice day and you want to do some day drinking, this is where you want to be. Most of the place is outdoor, with cornhole, ping-pong, giant jenga, etc. The ribs are great in my opinion.

A daytime cafe for crepes and coffee. People love this place, and it will get packed by 10am as it is small, but big things come in small packages.

Another taco place with a good cocktail scene. I would recommend this place more for brunch, or for a pre-dinner cocktail. Most people would never know there is a cool courtyard tucked in the back.

Japanese street food and Sushi. Cool vibe to kick off an evening, but the bar is small and fills up fast. This place is located above Round Corner (several steps involved). Reservations strongly recommended. Open late night. Excellent Potstickers.

This is the only pizza place that makes the list, and I highly recommend it. Wood-fired pizzas that recently ended up on Pittsburgh’s best list.

I say this with hesitation, but probably the best brewery in the neighborhood. Limited menu but the food is very good.

Another local brewery good for large groups. They have plenty of games to play. There is usually a food truck outside. If you are here, you might as well check out the homer simpson mural on 35th and Charlotte done by local artist, Jeremy Raymer.

This is a neighborhood located just 2 miles south of Lawrenceville. Lined with converted warehouses, the strip district has a mix of old-style grocers and gourmet food shops, with street vendors selling anything from produce to T-shirts. This makes for a nice bike ride via the Healthy Ride bikes. Please consult google maps for biking directions. Check out Mancini’s for a pepperoni roll, Rolands for a lobster roll, and Wholey’s for the market experience. The original primanti brothers is here, serving their famous Pittsburgh sandwiches. Finally, I have to recommend Gaucho Parilla for Argentinian wood-fired meats - reservations not accepted, and the line for dinner starts as early as 3pm!
