Beach
The nearest beach to 124 Bay View and one of the few in Chatham with free parking. Spaces fill up quickly so bring one car with all the heavy gear - coolers, beach chairs etc. - and let the rest of your group take the short stroll down from the house on foot.
On a windy day locals favor this spot for kite surfing and small sailing rigs. If you want to join the fun you can turner gear from The Cape Cod Beach Chair Company.
To protect the marine life this beach is not raked and can accumulate lots of rocks and shells so you may want to bring water shoes if you’re wading on the shoreline.
Those willing to walk down a few jeddies (either along the beach or on the walking path behind the dunes) will be rewarded with sandy alcoves and little-to-no crowd!
At the end of the beach you’ll meet Mill Creek a peaceful inlet with tidal pools, hermit crabs, oysters and minnows.
