Shopping

The Deli Factory is the go-to source of quality items for top restaurants in the area but everyone is welcome. The shop has been newly renovated, to better house their extensive range of spices, oils, vinegars, a good variety of Asian rice and noodles, pasta from Italy, plus giant bags of nuts and slabs of chocolate, cured meats, smoked fish and juices plus excellent fresh meats and fish along with smoked salmon, duck breasts and well-chosen local and imported cheeses. Harkerville Market is rural and rustic, but vibey and vital - not a flea market, not just a craft market, not only a farmers' market - but definitely all you could ever hope for in a typical South African Saturday Market - deep in the heart of the Garden Route, midway between Plettenberg Bay & Knysna on the N2.

Parks & Nature

Keurbooms beach and setting is truly beautiful, but also dangerous place for inexperienced sea swimmers - the tides are incredibly strong and we suggest only swimming in the shallows or avoid swimming completely. If you are interested in a walk along the beach, make sure you go at low tide ( see the tidal calendar downstairs outside the kids room), as if you don't it will be incredibly difficult to meander up and over the sharp rocks.

The Robberg Hiking Trail is probably one of the most popular and well known trails in the area and also one of the most scenic. The route is a circular trail along the Robberg peninsula with two shorter variations available ranging from easy to moderate.

Keurbooms River looks like somewhere King Kong would be happy to live for the rest of his life. Preferably, rent your own little boat at the Plettenberg Bay Angling club, pack a picnic and find a spot at one of the many little beaches along the river. You can also take ferry up the river, but these often accommodate bigger groups of people and your freedom is limited.

Entertainment & Activities

One of Plettenberg bays best tours; absail down into river gorges down waterfalls and jump from high rocks. It is the most fun that we've had in a while and the setting is like a scene out of the jungle book.
