A small oasis that feels like an Ivy League campus with the brick buildings running along the Spokane river. Do whatever you can to get your hands on a pair of tickets to watch the GU men’s basketball team play in The Kennel, you won’t regret it! We recommend drinks at Logan’s Tavern or Jack and Dan’s to feel like a true GU student/alumni.

There are MANY lakes to visit surrounding Spokane, but our favorite to go to is CDA! Located about 45 min. away to the beachfront park, a day trip to CDA is always a good idea! The downtown is filled with cute shops and eateries. The beachfront has sand volleyball courts as well as a large grass park with great playsets, picnic tables, basketball courts, and evening concerts in the summer. We recommend a day of playing at the beach, finished off with a burger, fries, and a huckleberry shake from Rogers Ice Cream and Burgers.

Spokane weather can be extremely unpredictable, especially in the spring! There will be the occasional day where it will hail, snow, rain, and then be sunny and 75 all within an afternoon. Make sure to bring a raincoat/light jacket, EVEN if the forecast says it will be sunny and in the 60s every day.
