Sightseeing

Lake Merrit is a beautiful lake in the middle of the downtown. It is the only man made salt water lake in the country. It’s about a 3 mile walk around the entire lake. It includes a bird sanctuary, boat rentals, and the famous Children’s Fairyland (must have a kid to enter). Every Saturday morning there is a farmer’s market at the North side of the lake. It’s still one of my favorite places in Oakland.
