A prehistory natural cave in the mountain, 15 min away from Jird40 (by car or bus).
This cave is set in strata of calcium and dolomites and belongs to the late Jurassic epoch. The cave was formed in two main periods. During the first stage which lasted approximately ninety to a hundred and twenty millions years, the land was under the sea.

The Sfireh temple was built in the time of the Emperor Septimius Severus in the 2nd century AD. which explains the name of the village of Sfireh, adapted from Severus. The main attraction at the complex is the Temple of Sfireh, known locally as “Qalaat al-Hosn” or “fortress castle.The temple was built on a hilltop 1,100m above sea level, overlooking the Dannieh middle mountains and the Sfireh pine and oak forest.

The area is open and so welcoming to local and foreign visitors, the surrounding are local farmers which have in their traditions and values alcohol drinks as forbidden.

Jird40 is located at 1550 meter altitude from sea level, in summer is sun is too close and during the night the weather is fresh and mild cold, but sometimes it can be colder (approx. 12 degree Celsius) at night so better to be prepared.
on the other hand, electronic payment is not widely available in the area, so better to keep necessary cash amount with you.
