Foster is only a short drive from Blackhead to the south. There are lots of shops and Stockland shopping Mall nearby, if you are in need of any items, otherwise we recommend Foster for it's beautiful lakes and coastal waters.
Foster has some of the most beautifully clear waters, which you will see as you cross over the bridge from Tuncurry, this is due to the many oyster leases.
There are beautiful walks and many other things besides the beaches, you can hire or travel on all sorts of boats, go snorkeling, diving or just sit on the jetty and watch the pelicans watching you.
There is and information center in Foster which can help you find the experience you are looking for.

Walk along the brake wall at Tuncurry and see the local fisherman and trawlers going about there day, as well as a chance to see dolphins in the crystal clear waters.
Tuncurry also has an excellent playground for kids, located near the bridge.
If you like to ride, there is a good bike path which starts near the Tuncurry TAFE and takes you all the way across the bridge and into Foster.

Wingham is a lovely little village located on the Manning river.
It has a good cafe scene and with a funny mix of alternate meets rural feel to the town.
It has a great historical Museum at a small cost.
Wingham Brush is a board walk which guides you through huge fig trees covered in shrieking fruit bats.

Crowdy Bay National Park says it all, sunning coastline, beaches, nature walks. If you have plenty of time and love to explore the out doors then it is a good full days experience. Dirt road but well maintained.
Crowdy Bay Lighthouse is a great location for whale watching at the right time of year.
