The Lompoc La Purisima Mission is considered to be set in the most authentic location of all the California missions, and has a series of breathtaking and scenic trails to hike or jog. The short hike up to the cross gives one a sweeping view of the mission and surrounding farms and Santa Rita Hills. There is a good historic visitor center, and walk-through touring of the authentically restored Spanish Mission period rooms. You can park on the street perpendicular to the entrance to avoid paying the entrance fee. A State of California Parks pass is valid at this location.
