Very good Italian restaurant. "Mexican Mondays" are amazing! A great place to have a nice evening out. If the weather is nice the outdoor seating has a very comfortable atmosphere.

ATTENTION DONUT LOVERS!
If you happen to be staying at the house on a Saturday morning and are looking for some delicious donuts and other baked goods, you must check out the Amish stand.
I don't even know the exact address but I believe it's on Schoolhouse Rd in East Brownington (probably a 10 minute drive). Just past the Will O Barn Snack Bar you will see a hand drawn sign that says "Baked Goods & Quilts", make that turn and you will find it! It is recommended to go rather early. Depending on the season they sell out at different rates. Try the glazed :)

BLUEBERRY SEASON!
Most of August and September is blueberry season in our area.
There is a family that has a great blueberry field that you can go blueberry picking! It's located at 1590 Maypond Rd. in Barton. (THERE IS USUALLY A HAND DRAWN SIGN AT THE END OF THE ROAD WHEN BLUEBERRIES ARE AVAILABLE)
Most times it's an honor system of weighing and paying yourself...sometimes the family is there and collects.
They don't always have containers to bring them home so I would recommend bringing a bag or container to bring them home.

ANIMAL SIGHTINGS!
There has been a bald eagle that has had a strong presence at the lake. Recently, it has spent time hanging out in the tall birch tree to the left of the fire pit! Keep an eye out!
Also, we have a cute groundhog (we call it Maggie...not that we even know if it's a girl). It lives in the retaining wall that you can see from the kitchen window. She likes to sunbath on the rocks and cruise around the property. She's fun to watch.
If Maggie hasn't eaten all the Nasturtium that is blooming in the retaining wall, you may get little hummingbird visitors too. Makes doing dishes more enjoyable!
