The Captain Proud offers a variety of cruises including breakfast, lunch, and dinner cruises (please check their cruise calendar as not all cruises are offered everyday). A great way to get out on the river for a cruise to see the various water birds and wildlife, golden cliffs and maybe even paddle underneath one of Murray Bridge's 3 bridges.

The murals depict a magnificent tribute to five Coonalpyn Primary School children, whose images will now live on in the history of the town forever. The lucky five were six-year-olds Kiarah Leske and Blake Thompson, five-year-olds Macey Jacobs and Reef Gregor and nine-year-old Ciara Johnson. The children are in various poses with two children looking to be actually drawing onto the face of two of the silos. The Viterra Coonalpyn Silos were the first silos to be painted in South Australia and are the seventh silos to be included in the Australian Silo Art Trail Collection. They were completed in March 2017. They were painted by world-renowned large scale mural artist Guido van Helten who was given full creative license to create what he believed would best reflect community spirit, culture and local identity.

Monarto Zoo, recently re-named as Monarto Safari Park, offers everything for young and old, their new Lions 360 experience will get your heart racing while their animal encounters with the meerkats and other animals will put a smile on your face. Plenty to see and do on their loop bus and lots of walking tracks should you feel energetic!

If you pick the right time of year you can see the falls flowing, they tend to dry up in warmer months but it’s still a great spot to go for a hike. Note there is a top & bottom car park. The bottom car park provides a more leisurely walk to the bottom of the falls with a little more challenging terrain as you get to the falls. The top car park provides an overview of the falls with a steep descent to the falls which is more challenging when returning up the hill to your vehicle.

Great loop walk along the river and wetlands where you’ll see many birds, some fish and possibly turtles if you’re lucky! I prefer to park at the gates on Murray Drive instead of Avoca Dell (but each to their own) the path on the riverbank side of the wetlands can get a little slippery when wet!

Community run Botanic Garden situated on 30 HA of Crown Lands, Pangarinda Drive, Wellington East, South Australia Winter is one of the best times to visit Pangarinda as there is such a huge collection of hakeas growing there and is the time when most are flowering. Also a great place for some bird watching! Native Garden Awards 2011: Pangarinda: for being “a real hidden gem of 30ha of rare and threatened flora from Australia’s drier regions. Planted and maintained by a dedicated group of native plant enthusiasts, it is a very valuable con- servation and educational resource.”

A great local bakery with everything you could want and more. Everything is made in store by hand and with a little love. Looking for something different? These guys started the giant donut cake craze so if there's a special occasion during your stay give them a ring a couple days before your stay and they'll work their magic! Love their honey logs! 🤤😍
