The village of Bakewell, home to the famous Bakewell pudding, is 11 miles from Hathersage. Here there are numerous shops and tea rooms to wander around as well as fish and chips to eat by the river. Bakewell is a market town and has a market on a Monday as well as an Agricultural Centre that holds regular livestock markets.
