Neighborhoods

This neighborhood boasts some multi million dollar properties right off of the side of the Tennessee River. Each home is unique and beautiful with plenty of history. The neighborhood was built in the 1920s about 5 minutes away from Downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee and was one of Knoxville's very first suburbs.

Sightseeing

This is a great spot to view a beautiful and scenic quarry. You are allowed to swim in this, but you have to go around back. I would not recommend swimming here as it's located in South Knoxville and lower quality individuals swim around there and I would not want your safety to be impacted. The viewpoint is safe and a beautiful thing to enjoy. You'll get to cross the main Bridge over the Tennessee river as well when you go see it.

Great place to kick back and grill next to the lake. Setup a hammock on some of the trees around the park. Then go to the river to take a swim or sit in the water and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Higher income families live over here and anyone would feel safe out here

"If you ain't first, you're last" If you enjoy speed and aren't afraid of loud noises, this is going to take your breath away. It is non-stop 11 mile road with 318 curves. You pretty much stay in second gear the whole way through. Many car enthusiasts come here often and Bikers. Disclaimer: It's dangerous!!

Great spot for driving through the mountains and having multiple stopping points for a view. Somewhere along the road, there's a hiking trail that takes you to one of my favorite views.

Food scene

Market Square is in the center of Downtown Knoxville with a few Restaurants to try out. There's usually live music being played here or events going on. You can find a restaurant to your liking over here and if not, go one block down to Gay St. and find your options triple.

This is a "hole in the wall" local italian restaurant with fantastic food. They are pretty pricey, but I enjoy every bite. They also allow you to bring your own wine. Great for a couple's night out.

Best Mexican Food I've ever had. If you were just driving by, you'd think it was just an ordinary food truck. But take one quick look at the reviews and you'll see how highly people think of it. Excellent food. I believe the tacos are $3 each. They'll knock your socks off.

Entertainment

Want to go Bowling in Downtown Knox and have some drinks? This is the place to go. You can not make a reservation over the phone and some nights the waits can be over 2 hours, so if you can't get a lane immediately, you can use the extra time to explore downtown and eat at a restaurant of your choice.

Hiking

I love this trail because at the end of it there's a "closed" sign at the top that nobody goes passed. But it's very easy to go passed it. And when you go passed it, it's literally 300 yards until you have a 360 view of the mountains all to yourself. And it's all to yourself because everybody sees the "closed" sign and turns around. Not knowing it's only 300 yards 'til paradise. This trail is a shorter hike, but a steep incline. Imagine stair climbing for a mile straight and this is it. But again, once you're at the top, it's very peaceful as not many people will be up there with you. You'll also cross about 3 streams of water along the way and walk next to a stream of water for a quarter mile.

This is a shorter, steeper hike that gives you a good view of distant mountains.

This is the highest peak in the Smokys and one of the best views you'll see. It is a 10 mile hike, 5 miles there and 5 miles back with a lodge at the top. It's considered a "difficult" trail, so if you're up for the challenge, it will be worth it!

Be weary going South of the River or East of Knoxville

In Knoxville, the best spots are West of Downtown or Downtown itself. East has higher crime rates as well as South Knox. North doesn't have as much crime, but everything over there is much older and I haven't found much up there. The best locations to go are Downtown or West of Downtown. You can still go South and East, I would just be more careful and mindful of your surroundings.
