Great food and drinks. Pool tables and darts. And Woody Harrelson hangs out at the bar in his PJs sometimes.

Nelson's fanciest gastropub. Can't think of anything bad to say, they absolutely nail it from the food to the drinks to the extensive beer list.

Rails to trails below Mountain Station is an easy and gorgeous walk in the woods—unless you don't like off-leash dogs, cyclists, or cross-country skiers. Mellow out, it's Nelson.

Seriously, why is there a Walmart parking lot on the nicest piece of waterfront property in town? This is a crime scene.

Challenging new hiking trail to the top of White Queen, one of the signature backcountry descents near Whitewater Ski Area. Expect glorious mountain vistas in every direction. You can access the trail from the Hummingbird Pass lot on the road to Whitewater, just about 20 minutes from town. Usually clear of snow from July to October. Bring bear spray.

Nelson's best hike, with awe-inspiring views throughout the hike and from the peak. Usually clear of snow July to October. Never heard of any incidents, but there is wildlife around town (moose, brown and black bears, wolves, cougars, marmots, angry squirrels, etc) so carry bear spray.

Conseils sur la ville

Que faut-il apporter?

Bring winter-appropriate shoes.

It snows and rains a lot here. Don't be the California dude in Vans slip-ons freezing his wet toes off.
