If you are from out of the area and want to see Washington D.C. for a day, then you can do it easily from the cabin. It is only a two hour drive from the cabin to the Whitehouse (according to google maps). So you could leave in the morning around 8 am, be in DC around 10am, stay all day and see the sites, and leave DC at 8 pm and be back at the cabin at 10 pm. This gives you 10 hours of sightseeing in DC. Enough time to see the Whitehouse, Washington Monument, The Capital building, and Lincoln Memorial with time to spare!

If you are from out of the area and want to see Washington D.C. for a day, then you can do it easily from the cabin. It is only a two hour drive from the cabin to the Whitehouse (according to google maps). River Rafting on Cacapon River Mins from Cabin
This is a good beginner river. 12 miles of class I-II (III). There is beautiful scenery with the river passing through a canyon and castle rock as the highlight, includes Whitewater, Canoeing, Kayaking, Fishing. The put-in is at the Rt. 50 bridge as it crosses the Cacapon River (Google Directions below). The take-out is at the Rt. 127 bridge at the Forks of Cacapon. You can also put-in at the Riverhouse coffee shop in Capon Bridge, WV

Kayaking & Canoeing on Cacapon River, Mins from Cabin
The river includes an upper section from Wardensville to Capon Bridge that is 25 miles of flowing water with farmland, cliffs and pools. The middle section from Capon Bridge to Rt. 127 is 11.5 miles of class I-III whitewater (detailed in the whitewater page). The lower part of the river from Rt 127 Bridge to Great Cacapon includes over 38 miles of A1 to class I water that meanders through the Eastern Panhandle of WV. Float fishing is popular on the Cacapon.
