This is a Do Not Miss for families with children! The best toy store I've ever seen, they have an amazingly thoughtful selection of toys, games and more, but the staff is the real treasure here. They know every kid in town by name and will keep a wish list for them as their birthday comes around, so anyone can go in to buy a gift for a friend's child and they will tell you what to get for them and if someone else has already bought it. I always have an absolute blast chatting and laughing with the staff, and they offer an incredible gift wrapping service as well!

A special shout-out to just one of the many wonderful art galleries and studios in Salida. Mark, the owner, is an extremely gifted potter and has some beautiful pieces along with many small and affordable gift options. There are several other artists represented as well. For families and groups, they also have paint-your-own pottery that you can do in the studio in the back of the store.
