Big Bear is a 4 season resort town, that means it has activities for you to enjoy at any time of year. In winter that means snow tubing, skiing, sledding, snowboarding, building snowmen, and in spring/summer/fall it's hiking, boating, swimming, go-karting, horseback riding, mini-golf - and many things are year round - helicopter rides, escape rooms and axe throwing (apparently easier than it sounds) Our favorite, favorite, favorite though - is the Alpine Zoo!

Visit Huckleberry - the three legged bear! He was rescued as a cub after a car accident killed his mother and maimed him -but he's doing great and living the dream at the Alpine Zoo.

Plan to spend some time here! Mini-golf, alpine slide, zip-line and go karting area and more all here in this one spot! Bring cash for an easier time as the snack shop only takes cash and you can't bring in outside food. Waivers need to be signed by parents, but it's painless and such a fun day.

Park by the boat ramp and enjoy gentle, beautiful walks along the lake edge, enjoy the ducks that hang out near the dock, and if you are there at dusk, you can see the trout jump into the air.
