Guadalest is a mountain village with a enchanting castle and fantastic views. It is about 20-30 minutes drive along great roads through amazing scenery. There are shops, cafes and museum, when you get there. You can see for miles....
Perched on a spine of rock the castle looks impossibly hard to reach but a good road leads to the village.

Seemingly mundane boat trip to tiny rock in Benidorm bay offers spectacular views back to "Manhattan on the Med" skyline with mouton backdrop. The island is a bordsanctulary and not hugely interesting but its perfect for a 1/2 day trip with amazing views and includes a tiny "submarine " ride with underwater views of the fish life and even sometimes human divers!

Now only the second tallest building in Benidorm this hotel has a lift to an amazing roof terrace open to non-residents (chargeable) which is definitely worth a look.

The Waterfalls (Fuentes del Algar)
At the Fuentes del Algar you can explore a beautiful area with a fast-flowing stream and several waterfalls. In the largest (pictured) you can swim in the plunge pool - it's exhilarating and very popular with children. There is a cafe adjacent and plenty of eateries too - beware of the car parking - do not take the first car parking offered to you - go as far as you can towards the falls or you will have a long walk!
