Getting Outside
Trail 10 offers beautiful views up and down Rock Creek Valley. At first glance it appears very steep but it quickly moderates to a more gradual and steady climb with some switchbacks. It offers lovely views within the first mile and the opportunity to hike for several miles if desired.
The well marked trailhead can be found at approximately mile 2 on Rock Creek Road. There is a small parking area directly across the road from the start of the trail.
Babcock Mountain Trail #10 Trailhead

If you choose to explore the trail, wear long pants and embrace the adventure.
This more southerly stretch of Rock Creek Road that leads to the swinging bridge at Welcome Creek Trailhead is unpaved and somewhat more rugged than the lower stretches of
Rock Creek Road.

County Road 102The Welcome Creek Trailhead offers a classic swinging pedestrian bridge over Rock Creek. It is a wonderful place to hang out, particularly on a hot summer afternoon or evening. There is an outhouse at the trailhead. The trail itself is a gradual walk up a tight valley. The trail is only lightly maintained. Jerry Johnson Hot Springs is a primitive hot spring located just across the state border in Idaho. It is a beautiful 2-hour drive and a 2.6 mile out and back hike from the parking area. It has multiple pools and a hot waterfall. It is best visited in fall and winter. Spring high water can temporarily wash out some of the pools. There is another hot spring a few miles up the road (Wier Hot Spring). Driving instructions and more information on both of these hot springs can be found on multiple websites including AllTrails.
