Beaches

A fabulous beach with a level access and parking. Sandy and pebbly with rock pools. Widemouth Bay is 25 minutes drive from the Hayloft and boasts some great restaurants which over look the bay. The Beach House is a laid back vibe and does a great fish and chips. For a special treat try Widemouth Manor Hotel and Elements ( an Italian restaurant). Next to the Beach House restaurant is a fresh fish and farm shop. The meat is literally from across the road. You can walk the coast path to Bude or chill with a coffee in the beachside cafes.

Bude is a seaside town with plenty of shops to browse and a wonderful sea canal. Here you can hire a rowing boat and explore the lovely canal. The Falcon Hotel is a great place to eat and overlooks this facility. There are also artisan shops along the way. The sea pool shown is a lovely safe place to swim, it is popular so get there early. Once again lovely cafes to stop and take a breather

Sightseeing

Lovely coastal walks, interesting and mysterious shops and the world famous witchcraft museum. The National Trust shop is one of the many places to eat and grab a coffee, but for true Cornish flavour go to the Cobweb Inn. Extremely atmospheric, you can touch the ceilings and get a great Sunday roast.

Doc Martin lovers will be in their element here. Narrow streets, galleries, fresh fish and tiny cottages make this a must see. If you are lucky you may catch the Fishermen's Friends singing on the harbour. ( check online ) Enjoy a pint on the little beach.

Daphne du Maurier put this place on the map. About 28 minutes drive from the Hayloft this is a great place to eat and drink. Why not read the novel before you visit?

For a wide selection of shops and wonderful estuary views this town has it all. It was once voted one of the most desirable places to live. Plenty to see and if you fancy to view this part of Cornwall by bike, there is the Camel Trail. Why not hire some bikes, pack a picnic and make a day of it.
