The most gorgeous big water lake with access to amazing hiking, biking, 14'ers, the Colorado trail, boat rentals, fishing, and a secret beach that blows away Colorado Lake Life expectations out of the water. Their is also a historic resort, Interlaken, nestled on the remote Southern shore of the lower Twin Lake. The historic town of Twin Lakes also has some cool food, grocery and dining.

Salida has it all. Great dining, shopping, trails, and a white water park right in the middle of town. Do yourself a favor and rent a duckie and float from stone bridge into downtown. Level 1-2.5 rapids depending on water flow. Simply gorgeous and low risk if you have some paddling experience.
