Surfing Hot Spot

Freshwater West beach is an incredible, vast and unspoilt beach located 15 minutes by car. It has been used as the backdrop for many films such as Dunkirk, Robin Hood and Harry Potter. Although the shell cottage from Harry Potter has now been dismantled, Dobie's Grave definitely remains and is visited by many to leave a painted rock or lone sock! Freshwest is a super beach and one of Pembrokeshire's main surf spots, be careful though as there is a dangerous rip current. Parking is free and there are loos.

Safe family beach ideal for learning to paddle board!

Angle Beach is a local firm favourite for families. It is incredibly sheltered which means that the kids can play in safety. In fact many of the local children enjoy jumping off the wall and rocks in the harbour (secret bay on the right) at high tide. There is also a great restaurant serving lunch, icecreams and hot drinks. There are the all important loos, but the car park is chargeable at £5 but can be paid from your phone.

Ice cream!!!

Saundersfoot is a bit likeTenby, but much smaller. Nice boutique shops, great food, but the best thing is the ice cream!! If you are there, make sure you visit the Saundersfoot Rock and Fudge Shop on the front, you won't be disappointed. Locals know about Kookaba which is a BBQ grill type restaurant serving excellent and HUGE portions inexpensively. On the downside its hard to get a booking as its so popular.

Food scene

Tenby is one of Pembrokeshire's favourite seaside towns. Restaurants, bars and pubs a plenty. With many glorious beaches, peaceful fishing spots and a lovely 15th Century church. Plus, there’s the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path which stretches for over 4 miles. If you take a 20 minute boat ride, you can visit the holy island of Caldey Island which is run by Cistercian monks. However wrong it may be, I am most excited about Roly's homemade fudge shop..no I am not on the payroll, but you just can't beat a really good homemade salted fudge!!

Well have you ever eaten bugs?? I hadn't until recently and I can't believe I am recommending it, especially for children, but I am! A rather super chef has headed up the kitchen at Bug's Kitchen at the the Bug Farm making crickets and meal worms plateable. If you want to learn more about bugs whilst trying the I'm a Celeb Get Me Out of Here experience then make your way up to St. Davids for something a little different..
