Hiking/Slightseeing

Drive up Mt. Revelstoke and take in the incredible views and the impressive wild flowers. Stop part way up the mountain for a picnic at one of the looks outs.
Start your hike from highway 23S via bluff trail, a 5km hike round trip or you can drive in from begbie forest service road. There is a picnic table at the bottom, so you can have a break after your hike or lunch. It’s one of our favorite trails to do as the falls are so big and beautiful at the end! I think the hike is suitable for grade school kids.

Try the trail at the base of RMR called “Bottoms up” it takes you to the mid mountain with a great views up and down the valley plus a great view of Revelstoke. I just discovered this one this spring and have hiked it 4 times now. You get to walk by the mountain coaster and see people zoom by you.

Their pizza is the best and a large is huge. Also, they have great panzerotti’s! Another favorite of mine is their Long Island ice teas, have them with or with out lime slush in the summer.

This is another long time local restaurant in our town. It is a ways across town in an area called The Big Eddy but it is worth the drive. Our favourites are their hamburgers, deep fried pickles and chicken fingers tossed in hot sauce! They also make the same Long Island iced teas like the idiot does. My husbands favorite drink that they make is the Big Eddy Punch! All my friends RAVE over their Caesar’s (I’m not a Caesar drinker) My 3 yr old daughter loves going there but they don’t have a kids menu, we just get her a basket of fries and she eats some of our food.

Another place we like to go is Chubbies. My mother in law comes from Calgary and she always wants to eat there. They have a kids menu so it’s great for families. They also have an extensive drink menu. They have a really great front or back patio. The front patio is nice in the summer when the grizzly plaza has entertainment, which runs all Summer

Revelstoke does not have a shortage of great food and cafes! This is one of my favorites to get unique wraps/sandwiches and perfect coffee drinks. You can’t go wrong with any of the food they have. They also have delicious treats. Their chocolate Ella cakes is to die for. On Wednesday to Saturday they bake fresh bread.

This is a new unique cafe that just recently opened up in Revelstoke. They only use local, in season, ingredients. True Farm to table style. The farm is located out on highway 23 south. They grow amazing vegetables, that they also sell at the market on Saturday’s, plus they also raise their own pigs and chickens. You can get fresh, baked daily sourdough bread, muffins and lots of other yummy goodies. Breakfast is also their specialty!

Mountain biking

Head over to Mt. McPherson for a mix of green to black cross country biking trails. They also have a fun little kids bike park area which is called Miller time. There are 3 parking areas to accès the trails. See their web site to find a map or we have some in our suite.
