Brecon Market on Tuesdays and Fridays (Albert Rees on the left as you go into the hall sell a range of Welsh cheeses). Farmer’s Market first Saturday of the month. A range of ad hoc events such as craft and militaria fairs. The Arcade at the entrance to the hall is open all week (except Wednesday afternoon and Sundays) and has a good butcher, fishmonger and grocer. Morgan’s the butcher on the street near the entrance specialises in Welsh Black Beef.

A lovely gentle walk. From Brecon take the A40 towards Abergavenny. Take the first turn to Llanfrynach. Park near the flyover, walk over the canal bridge, go left onto the footpath and the Royal Oak pub is an hour’s stroll
