The Bamboo is soaked in history. Once the Takata General Store, it is now a consistently good eatery, hands down the best in Kohala. Besides, every Tuesday and Sunday three members from Na Kupuna O Kohala dance during the lunch hour… At the moment, only lunch (the menu is online I believe) but soon, dinner will be back, with the usual lineup of amazing music.

Kohala Coffee Mill is my go-to place for a cortado and breakfast sandwich (or burrito)…and theyʻre open all day…the quality of the coffee is off the chart…(when I travel, they are my benchmark)…Saturdays thereʻs live music
