It requires a 3-mile drive from Bear Mountain Escape to enjoy the various shops, German food, attractions, and entertainment in Historic downtown Helen. Traffic can be slow so be patient. Expect paid parking of $5-$10 and a pedestrian-friendly downtown with horse/carriages.
