Where can I get great coffee (and sweets) nearby?
These are my suggestions for your morning espresso shots and sweet pick-me-ups. All within 5 minutes of walking.
This little gem is right in front of the apartment. They serve the best coffee in town and this is where you need to grab your morning dose of caffeine before heading off to explore Split. Add a super tasty chocolate chip cookie and you are good to go :)!

This place has been a firm locals' favourite since decades ago. They serve amazing warm sandwiches with a local grilled minced meat delicacy called chevapchichi. You need to try this! It is perfect for curing hangovers as well :).

Where to go for a more upscale/romantic dinner?
This is one of my favourite spots in Split and it is only a short walk away from the apartment. The current owner carefully restored the premises. Kamilo Tončić Sorinjski (1878.-1961.), one of the most famous architects of the Croatian Art Nouveau Movement, designed this family villa with its beautiful gardens. You can go there for coffee+cake/breakfast/drinks, but I would also recommend booking a nice romantic dinner in their amazing gardens.

Kamilo Tončić Sorinjski (1878.-1961.), one of the most famous architects of the Croatian Art Nouveau Movement, designed this family villa with its beautiful gardens. My favourite beaches and spots for outdoor activities
I heartily recommend a visit to our magnificent park of nature, Marjan Hill for its magnificent beaches, walking, running, jogging, climbing or riding a bike. It takes about 4 minutes to get to the northern entrance (called Spinutska vrata) with an Uber or about 20 minutes by foot.

This is a new, trendy cocktail spot with a creative drinks list, great music and a very stylish setting. Put on a flashy outfit and grab a drink here before you hit the town. You can also get tapas to share.

You'll see people playing the local game of ''picigin' on the sandy beach below if you come to Zbirac during daytime or people going for a night swim if you come here to grab a drink in the evening (that is what I prefer). Zbirac is a locals' favourite hangout and a great place to chill, people watch and enjoy the summer vibes.

Must-see sights
No visit to Split is complete without a climb to the top of the St Dominus bell-tower. From here, you'll have an unique view over the old Palace. Try to get here to enjoy the sunset.

Grab a drink at Lvxor Coffe bar- this is a beautiful, Viennese style coffee house right across the church tower. Skip the food and order a coffee or a drink, marvel at the glamorous interior for a couple of minutes and then take a seat on the stairs outside and do some people-watching. When you finish with it, take the stairs above the imposing entrance to the Emperor Diocletian's cellars and get lost in the small streets behind. You'll be rewarded with some scenes reminiscent of old Italian movies if you do a bit of exploring.

You can combine a visit to this beautiful spot with a swim on one of the big nearby beaches (Kasjuni or Obojena).
