Mammoth Cave National Park has an amazing amount of trails. There is one for horse backing riding & hiking as close as 800 feet away from campground. From this trailhead you can access miles and miles of trails. There are many more trailheads to access trails for hiking and mountain biking. About 10 minutes away is Maple Springs trailhead where you can ride bikes or horses, or hike. These trails are very shaded trails for the most part. The tall trees and mossy rock formations are quite amazing and have a way of relaxing visitors.

If your lodging is in a tent, please keep in mind canvas walls do not offer insulation. We will do our best with extra bedding, space heaters, (or a/c depending on the season), etc. but it's better to be prepared just in case!
When there it has been raining in excess you may choose to wear older shoes or stick to paths.
