Hiking trail through mature forest. The first 1.5 miles is basically up hill, once you get to the top of the trail there is a long loop along the ridge line. We usually take a right once you get to the loop and go another 1/4 to 1/2 mile to the "vista" there is a bench and a nice view of Rocky Mount.

"The Bird Trail" is a paved walking trail through the woods behind the YMCA. You can park at the YMCA and walk around the right side of building to reach the trail. Or there is a gravel parking lot behind the neighboring building just past the YMCA parking lot. This trail is great for a quick walk around the loop (est. 10-15 minutes).

The primary draw is the Homestead Creamery ice cream made onsite, they also serve deli sandwiches and have grocery items, some from local farms. There is a small indoor dining area, a porch in front of the building, and also a covered deck on the back of the building to chill out and eat ice cream and chat. It takes about 10-12 minutes to get there from Nana's Landing.
