For a wonderful waterfront restaurant in Bonita Springs, be sure to check out the Big Hickory. Excellent food, casual dress and so nice to sit on the water and relax from a stressful day sitting on the beach, or kayaking through the mangroves, or reading by the pool!

Sightseeing

The Wonder Gardens are a wonderful place to go to, to walk around and see local birds, reptiles and hear how they are such a vital part of the Florida ecosystem! It's a great place to take young kids, and there is an awesome little cafe down the street (Downtown Wine & Coffee Bar). The avocado toast and latte is excellent.

The pier in Naples is definitely worthwhile to see - especially at sunset as the colors are amazing! And getting an ice cream to 'give you energy' of course. And the beach right there is one of our favorites - sandy bottom, soft sand, not too big of waves - just perfect!

Definitely checkout kayaking in both Bonita Springs & Naples. So many places to easily rent kayaks and leasurely paddle through mangroves and isolated beaches. You can spend the whole day kayaking, swimming so bring along a lunch and some water - you'll likely see lots of cool birds and perhaps a manatee.

If you have access to a car, check out Sanibel Island & Captiva. Great for shelling and ecosystem tours to check out wildlife, along with great places to eat of course! It's about a 45 minute drive, but has a totally different vibe than Naples & Bonita Springs. The beaches are stunning in Sanibel!

Conseils sur la ville

Que faut-il apporter?

Bring comfy sneakers and sandals & bathing suits!

Bonita Springs & Naples are great for walking (and cycling) around as there are sidewalks everywhere and it's nice and flat. So comfy shoes, sneakers and shorts and t-shirts are key. And for sure, bring bathing suits as the pools at Spanish Wells are great and the Bonita Beach is perfect for swimming and floating!

Everywhere in the area is pretty casual

No need for super fancy clothes in Bonita Springs or Naples! Shorts, T-shirts, golf shirts, sundresses, sandals, bathing suits and a few hats to protect your nose from getting sunburned! Even the nicest restaurants have that casual, relaxed, have-a-drink attitude! It's a one-of-a-kind vacation for sure!
