Mandi is loved by many for their delicious late night grub (they are open till 6am on the weekend) and vegetarian options. Although the falafel roll is not quite the same as I got used to when I was in Israel and Palestine, it’s pretty damn good and filling.

You will not find better bread in Reykjavík than the darkly crusted and deeply flavored loaves at Brauð & co (Bread & co), located in the centre of the capital. The organic sourdough breads are made on-site in the purest manner, and are at the opposite end of the commercial ones you will find at most supermarkets. They are more nutritional and last longer. cinnamon_uns_braud_co.jpg YUMMY The cinnamon buns at Brauð & co are divine. Brauð & co opened its doors in March 2016 and immediately sprung to the top of artisanal baking in Reykjavík, guided by owner and Denmark educated baker and pastry maker Ágúst Einþórsson.

Entertainment & Activities

Iceland’s only arcade”, Freddi, is a toy store and retro game centre in the heart of downtown Reykjavík, modelled after a venue with the same name that stood on Hafnarstræti but closed down some fifteen years ago. Freddi is a time machine. As soon as you set foot on the burgundy carpet and are greeted with the sparkling display of flashing pinball machines, you have stepped into the times of Pac Man and American Girl Dolls—The good old 1980s. The establishment offers console rooms for rent, where you and your friends can leave the dramas of adulthood by the door and while away the hours on such classics as the Nintendo 64 and the Sega Megadrive.
