Nice spot to fish or just watch the barges come in and out of the ICW.
The only free boat ramp in town. Get there early as parking gets crazy in the summer.

Our house is named after this park. You can enjoy the view of "The Boggy" from our elevated deck or venture there your self by going to the north end or 2nd St.

Sightseeing
AKA the Front Beach. Located on the edge of Matagorda Bay, this beach does not directly access the Gulf of Mexico. The large sandy beach offers nice place to cool off and the shallow water and absence of waves makes this a nice place to take the kids. POC Pier is located here and is a well know spot for fishing and crabbing. Try your luck at night under the lights for specs.

Getting around town
There are several ways to move around town. POC is not very big and most places are within walking distance of our house. Bikes are also great, just use caution on the weekends as the roads can become busy. Also, Golf carts and UTV's are used by most locals for getting around, please follow the rules posted at the front beach.
Que faut-il apporter?
Bring Loose Fitting Clothes, Sunscreen and Bug Spray
Like most coastal settings POC is no different. There will be humidity and there will be Mosquitoes. Long sleeve fishing shirts will help keep you protected from the Sun. Keep your OFF handy.

Buy Groceries before you arrive to POC.
If you are planning on cooking at the house, do your grocery shopping before you arrive in POC. Other than the Speedy Stop and Dollar General, there are no grocery stores in town. Be prepared to pay higher for groceries in POC. There is a Walmart and HEB in Victoria and Port Lavaca. Stop here on the way in to save some cash.
