Perfect for the family - it has a kiddies play area. A great Duck Pond where you can sit and watch their antics or float a model boat!. Close to the Duck Pond near the kiddies play area is a beautiful Peter Pan statue built in memory to a deceased loved one - if you want to know more - go explore! The gardens are beautiful, with wooden tables and benches under tall trees - to enjoy a family picnic. The Park also has a lovely Japanese Garden where one can sit and contemplate. The flower beds are just stunning - with an array of colour and various species.

Waihi Beach has a dramatic coast line. It has a raw energy about it There is a look out and a car park, where you can sit and enjoy the views.. The walk down to the beach is part metal and uneven.. You can sea fossilized sea shells in the cliff faces. Once you access the beach keep to the shore line as there has been occasional incidences of land slides. The fishing is good, but keep an eye on the tide. In times past there were two Maori Pah sites on both headlands. Sadly there is little trace of them, due to the erosion.

Well worth visiting - there is on display some of the oldest wooden artifacts in New Zealand. One of the items being a 3.5 million years old fossilised Whale jawbone encased in rock. The Taranaki Wars are explained from both sides - with aids of maps, photographs, weaponry and artifacts....the history is so interesting. The museum has an amazing exhibit about the evolution of Mt. Taranaki and it region. It educates us on how earthquakes and volcanic eruptions impact us. There is such a lot to take in - allow a couple of hours.
