The brand new Downtown St Pete Pier is a must see! Perfect place to walk around and experience the Florida lifestyle! For adults there is a bar at the very end, on the entire top floor of the pier with an outstanding view! A restaurant is located there as well named “Teak”. For families, there is a really cool playground, splash pad, and beach area with shallow water here! Free Lounge chairs and umbrellas located all around with beautiful views of the water. “Doc Fords” restaurant is also located here, the food & experience are worth it! Finally, a Saturday Morning Market is hosted there weekly! Parking must be paid for in all of Downtown St Pete. I recommend the “Park Mobile” app to help make the process easier.

Museums

I am a big fan of our local art and museum culture here in St. Petersburg! I have lots of recommendations for museums to visit! First up my favorite, the Dalí. This museum is not as fun as others when is comes to kiddos, however does offer a kids room, and an outdoor area that kids really enjoy. However the two main art display rooms are quiet, secure, and simple, which is less fun for kids. Dalí’s work is amazing and they often have feature artists displayed in the other room! Check online who they are featuring during your visit! Parking is paid here, you have to enter and pay a lot attendant $10

The art at this museum will blow you away! You could spend hours here if you wanted exploring each piece. The rooms go on for what feels like forever, and every thing you see is cooler than the last! This spot is great for kids who listen to their parents when they say “be careful, don’t touch, these items are breakable” Parking here is free and abundant!

Another glass museum so parents take kiddos at your own risk however this collection is entirely made by Mr. Chihuly himself! It’s a beautiful exhibit and happens to be across the street from another local artist museum called “Morean Arts Center” that is free to explore! The pieces there change periodically and are available for purchase! Check both of these spots out if you can!

In-town Travel Info

Ubers and Lyfts are regularly available in this area. We have a PTSA bus system and a trolley system that runs along the beaches. Rentable (by app) Electric Scooters can be found Downtown St. Petersburg, Downtown Tampa, and along the Beaches.

Parking!

Paying for Parking is something to plan ahead for here! Most parking along the beaches and in downtown areas will require payment. The easiest way is to download the “Park Mobile” application to your phone. Each parking location is identified by a four digit number. When you open the App it will find your location with the correct four digit number. You will add your car, license plate, and your credit card to the App, and from there you’ll select the time you need. Park mobile is very common here and it will often be the cheapest option for parking.

Rentable Electric Scooters

This is a very popular part of traveling in Downtown St. Pete and along the Beaches! All around you’ll see little areas filled with various types of scooters. They vary in brand and stand-up or sit-down options. You’ll use an app on your phone associated with the scooter you want to use. The app will require a short safety survey, your license, and info to upload money into your account. These scooters have rules and you can be arrested for intoxicated use. The scooters also have to be parked in designated areas in order to stop your ride and complete payment. They are very affordable and fun!
