Because it's our restaurant. We opened Dylan's in 2012. We welcome families and can accommodate larger groups if booking in advance. Our menu focuses on local produce with an emphasis on seafood. We also make freshly baked pizzas. With great views of the Menai Strait it's a great place to get you in the holiday mood. https://www.dylansrestaurant.co.uk/

Quirky little restaurant owned and run by the Barrie brothers. The boys set up their restaurant in what effectively is a campsite run by their parents. Over the past 6 years, they've built up the restaurant and are gaining lots of press coverage and Ellis has appeared on Great British Menu two years on the trot. If you like 'from field to fork' eating be sure to check out their fields opposite the restaurant where you can see their free range pigs and hens.

The White Eagle is a good spot after a nice walk on the coastal path. Its a great pub with nice decor and good outside area for the warmer weather. It does get very busy at peak times so booking advisable.

We love Danny and Donna and first came across their business at Llandudno Junction when we first moved to the Island. They opened their second shop in Valley a few years back. There are nearer chip shops but this would be my choice.

Our local farm shop is pretty rustic but does have lots of lovely local produce including vegetables grown in their own fields. They supply local meats, cheeses, cakes, jams and so much more. We often call in on a Sunday to pick up some local produce before preparing a Sunday roast.

Drinks & Nightlife

Right next door to the chapel, is the welcoming village pub. They have a small but good food offer including a great Steak and Ale pie. It has a beer garden for the summer evenings and a warm fire for winter nights. It's a great place to go on your arrival night but we'd recommend dropping them a line and booking a table at the weekends as they do get busy.

Parks & Nature

Probably the most well known Beach on the Island of Anglesey. This beautiful beach has a large car park with BBQ area, toilets, and often a mobile vendor selling hot drinks. It is surrounded by Newbrough Warren which has extensive bike trails and paths. We love a winter walk out across the beach to visit the Island of Llandwyn with it's pilot's cottages and lighthouse. Then we head in to walk back through the woods. It's worth noting that from the 1st May through to the end of September dogs are not allowed on a large section of the beach. There is a charge now for the Car Park of £5 per day.

One of our favourite beaches on the island. It takes about 15 minutes to walk up the estuary to the beach which stops it from becoming over populated even in the height of summer.

Another fabulous Anglesey beach, you can start here parking in the car park and grabbing a quick snack from the Beach shack. Head out over the headland to Moelfre calling in at the pub for a quick pint or Ann's Pantry for a hot chocolate.

With the locals this is a firm favourite. A small sandy bay that is sheltered. A car park at the back of the beach means it's a great place to pitch up with boogie boards, towels, cool boxes and all kinds of kit.

Beautiful country estate that was home to the Marquis of Anglesey back in the day. It's now in the care of the National trust so the usual charges apply. There is a collection of works by Whistler including a great mural in the dining room. Whistler was friends of the 5th Marquess who was completely eccentric blowing the entire family fortune in about 5 years. If you get chance google him! There are nice walks through the grounds too and these will take you down to the shores of the Menai Strait.

Penrhyn Castle is now in the care of the National Trust and has extensive grounds and outbuildings with a bit of transport museum. The castle is a show of extreme wealth. If I'm not mistaken it was only used for a few months a year as a hunting lodge. There are lots of helpful and knowledgeable staff on hand to fill you in on the details. They do have a quiz thing for kids to do as they go around and some of the detail in the building is amazing. Like with most of these great houses though the money amassed to allow it to be built came from the local slate quarries where the workers didn't have great working conditions and slave trade so not the best history!!
