Just a few blocks from our apartment, Madison Square Park is a lovely oasis in the middle of the city. It’s also the site of the original Shake Shack, and we recommend the cheese fries! Stroll through during the morning and it will be wonderfully quiet.

The beautiful outdoor memorial is public and there is no charge. It is also right in the Financial District, so you can explore Wall Street, Battery Park, and more in just a few minutes walk.
