This is a great place for excellent food, frequent live music and a great outdoor (covered) bar. Sit back, listen to the music and enjoy your favorite libation and an appetizer or a main dish. They have two locations: Sumter Landing and Brownwood Squares.

The square offers free nightly music, dining, shopping, coffee and ice cream shops, a movie theatre and much more. It is the gathering place for all your social, dining and entertainment needs

With over 700 holes of golf, 109 swimming pools, numerous tennis and pickleball courts, miles of walking and biking trails, this is the place for you to stay active outdoors all year around. You can do as much or as little as you choose. There are dozens and dozens of Recreation Centers, both local and regional ones that host numerous activities and clubs. Too many to list, but you can go online to the Villages website and find any activity you can think of. Many people come here for a "Lifestyle Visit." and decide to buy soon after. It's truly an amazing place on this earth.

Golf Carts are the popular choice to get around The Villages
By far, golf carts are the preferred mode of transportation around The Villages. With hundreds of miles of golf cart paths crisscrossing The Villages, this is the best way to get around. Download VILLAGES GPS map. Yes, it's $10, but extremely beneficial. You'll need this if not familiar with The Villages.

Nightly Free Live Music in each Town Square. 5-9pm.
Each town square offers free nightly live music (weather permitting) from 5-9pm. Happy hour is from 5-6pm, two for one drinks in the Square. There are three town squares. Spanish Springs is the closest to your rental (15 minutes drive). Next is Sumpter Landing, 30 minutes away and Brownwood, about 45 minutes to the south. These squares offer all your dining, pubs, shopping, coffer and ice cream, live music, a movie theatre and much more

Make reservation for restaurants before showing up
It is advised to call and book reservations for any restaurant in The Villages, especially during high season from January through April. In the off season, May to October, it is easier to get in without reservations, but I still recommend.

Pack beach clothes, towels and beach chairs
Of course, this is Florida. Even though we're not on the coast, both the Atlantic Ocean and The Gulf Of Mexico are both a little over an hour away. Many renters take "day trips." to the beaches. So, if you're planning on doing the same, pack beach clothes, sunscreen, beach chairs, toys and bring a cooler, if possible. There are some amazing beaches on both coasts less than 2 hours away. Enjoy
