Sightseeing
On the southern side of town, Weeks State Park is a great little jaunt from the base parking lot, or in the summer you can drive all the way to the lookout tower and historic summer home of former Senator Weeks. Inside you’ll learn about Senator Weeks’ legacy as a MA US Senator who was responsible for the National Forest Service + Preservation efforts and the Migratory Bird Act. A pretty cool house to tour as well as excellent 180-degree views of the mountains, lookouts and short, easy trails around the property.

A quirky town that is best known for Dog Mountain, a dog memorial, and a massive haven for any (well-behaved) dog to run free in their parks, ponds, and chapel. There are many restaurants all around town to visit and check out. There’s also a great, rustic Red Barn brewing down a gorgeous rural drive in nearby Danville that we recommend.
